John Lennon’s son Sean calls Prince Harry ‘idiot’ and ‘buffoon’ after reading his memoir ‘Spare’

John Lennon’s son, Sean Ono Lennon, had some harsh criticism of Prince Harry and his memoir, Spare.

Lennon turned to X to deliver his “long-awaited review”, summing it up in “two words: ‘Smash me.’

People came to the Duke of Sussex’s defense in their responses, but Lennon had cheeky answers for many of them.

“Well you were the backup Lennon,” one person commented, to which he replied: “If you say so.”

Another said Prince Harry’s memoir took “guts” to write, to which he joked that “the todger story definitely took some guts”, apparently referring to Prince Harry’s account of frostbite on his genitals.

Many have claimed that Lennon did not or does not know Prince Harry, but he has said that they have met before.

“We met once. That was before I realized he was an idiot,” he said.

Representatives for Prince Harry and Lennon did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Several people have pointed out that both Lennon and Prince Harry have a lot in common, both being the children of incredibly famous people who died not only young, but tragically.

Lennon is the only child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono and was just 5 years old when the Beatles legend was shot and killed in 1980 at the age of 40. John also has an older son, Julian, with his first wife.

Prince Harry was 12 years old when his mother, Princess Diana, died in a car accident in Paris, aged 36.

“I generally empathize with him. But the way he whines and whines about things is really too much. I’m just having a little fun. I think he earned some derision. (I’m sure I have too),” he wrote.

However, he remained critical of Prince Harry, writing that “being a buffoon is his doing”.

In another response about Prince William being a “golden child” compared to Prince Harry, he wrote: “It’s very sad. I don’t hold any of this back. It’s the stupidity that bothers me.”

He also stated after the initial review that he was mostly joking, replying to one person: “There’s nothing I haven’t realized about what we share in common. Your assumption that I don’t see these things because I made a joke is completely unfounded.”

One person wrote: “You’re entitled to your opinion, but the FLAW is that it had a bestseller in 2023, while you haven’t sold anything close to it.”

Lennon replied: “I mean, I don’t care, but I won an Oscar this year (sic), so…I guess I can handle it.”

The 48-year-old took home an Oscar for best animated short for ‘War Is Over’, inspired by his parents’ music, at this year’s ceremony.

Lennon also followed in his father’s footsteps, releasing a debut album, Into the Sun, in 1998 and playing in several bands, including Yoko Ono’s band Plastic Ono.

He also runs a small record label, Chimera, out of his kitchen, according to the company’s website.

Lennon generally seems unfazed by the backlash to his comments, writing: “People are coming after me for making a joke about the title of Harry’s book. It’s pretty cool.”
