A Denver metro man is dead and another is missing after a rafting accident in the Yarmony Rapids area of ​​the Colorado River on Saturday, according to a news release from the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

The Grand County Communications Center received reports of a person not breathing on the Colorado River southwest of Kremmling around 3:40 p.m. Saturday. The sheriff’s office initially reported that the crash happened in Gore Canyon, but it actually happened in the Yarmony Rapids area of ​​the Colorado River, according to an update Sunday. Once on the scene, first responders learned that a rafting accident had occurred and that a bystander was performing CPR on an adult male, according to the release.

The man, Brent Boulter, 56, of the Denver metro area, was later pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel, the release said.

Another man went missing after the raft capsized, officials said. Emergency responders searched the river and surrounding area for the missing man, Thomas Russell, 61, of the Denver metro area. Officials searched the river again from Radium to Two Bridges on Sunday but were unable to find him, according to a Sunday news release.
