Teenager seriously injured in crash on New Hey Road in Huddersfield

A teenager suffered serious injuries following a two-car crash in Huddersfield on Sunday night.

Emergency services were called to Round Ings Road in Outlane to a collision at around 7.45pm. The accident was reported to have occurred on or near the junction with New Hey Road. West Yorkshire Police said an 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.




A police spokesman said: “Police were called to New Hey Road, Huddersfield at 7.45pm on Sunday to reports of a collision between two cars.

“An 18-year-old man in one of the cars was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries described as serious but not believed to be life-threatening. Both cars were later recovered and the road was reopened just after midnight.”

A fire service spokesman added: “We were called at 7.50pm to reports of a road traffic collision on Round Ings Road. This was a two car collision.

“Crews from Huddersfield and Rastrick freed two people from the vehicles before making the scene safe.”
