Portugal call up Matheus Nunes from Manchester City for the European Championship

LISBON, Portugal — Portugal called up Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes for the European Championship on Monday to replace the injured Otávio.

The Portuguese Football Federation said Otávio would not be back for Euro 2024, which starts on June 14, after he was injured playing for his Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. He is teammates there with Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.
