The 2024 APAT UK Championship heads to Leeds from 14-16 June.

The Amateur Poker Association and Tournament (APAT) heads to Leeds on June 14 for the 2024 edition of the APAT UK Championship. APAT will call Grosvenor Leeds Westgate home June 14-16where someone will become the amateur champion of Great Britain.

The UK APAT Championship kicks off with Day 1 of it £120 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Main Event at 18:00 BST on June 14. Main Event players sit down with a 100,000-chip war chest and play in 25-minute levels where blinds start at 200/500 and a big blind ante of 500.

APT Leeds

Late registrations are open until the start of the ninth level at around 21:35 BST and each of the two flights is played as a freezeout. However, if you play Day 1a, you can skip to Day 1b at 15:00 BST on June 15 and still eat the cherry.

Day 1 continues until only 15% of the field remains, which is usually around level 16. Surviving players advance to Day 2 at 1pm BST on June 16 with a minimum of money in tow. The blinds increase every 40 minutes on day 2, reducing to 20 minutes once the final table is three-handed.

The blinds are rolled back on Day 2 so that they are either the level of the earliest completed on Day 1 or a guaranteed minimum of 33 average big blindsdelivering more play when players need it most.

In addition to cash prizes, the top three finishers receive a coveted bronze, silver or gold APAT medal to commemorate their achievements. The APAT community lives to win medals, so you won’t get your hands on one easily!

Action side event in Leeds

If the main event of the APAT UK Championship doesn’t go to plan, you have the chance to get involved in a trio of side events over the weekend. On June 15 at 20:00 there will be a No-Limit Hold’em Side Event with £70 buy-in.

On June 16, at 14:00 BST, a £120 buy-in ROE UK Amateur Poker Championship It takes place. It sees players battle it out in a mixed No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha event, with the two popular games rotating after each round.

At 17:00 BST on June 16, just as the Main Event heads to the final table, there are £70 No-Limit Hold’em side events.

All indications are that the main event and secondary events in Leeds are well attended. These races are always popular with APAT members and similar sized races held in Leeds usually see over 100 runners. As APAT events are open to anyone, the UK APAT Championship could see some pretty impressive payouts.
