Man arrested in Swindon for alleged arson

A man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Wiltshire Police said officers were called to “a disturbance” on Portal Road in Swindon at around 11pm BST on Sunday, where they found a flammable liquid on fire in the driveway of a property.

The force said it believed the substance was petrol.

The 50-year-old man remains in custody for questioning.
