The new Bradford Primark store will open in The Broadway this autumn

PRIMARK signs have appeared on Bradford’s former Debenhams as work continues on the new store.

The clothing store is moving from its current premises in Kirkgate Shopping Center to the former storefront in Broadway Shopping Centre.

Work has been underway for several months and councils say the relocated Primark is due to open this autumn.

A Primark spokesman told the Telegraph & Argus last December: “Work is ongoing at Primark Bradford’s new location in The Broadway shopping center as we prepare for our move.

“We are delighted to welcome our Bradford shoppers to the new look store next year and will share more details in due course.

“In the meantime, customers can still enjoy shopping in our Primark Bradford store in Kirkgate Shopping Center and can also go online to check availability before going into store.”

When did Bradford Debenhams close?

The Bradford Debenhams store closed in The Broadway in 2021.

The long-standing UK name went into administration in 2020 and was forced to close its doors after 242 years.

It marked one of the UK’s biggest retail failures and led to more than 10,000 job losses.
