YouTuber calls Coventry ‘crazy’ for flytipping and they all say the same thing

A YouTuber visiting Coventry has been met with fly-tipped furniture, overflowing bins and boxes piled up on the pavement – and Coventry Live readers are furious at the lack of “personal responsibility” on display in five areas of the city.

YouTube vlogger UK Explored made the discoveries while filming for the video titled ‘We explored the 5 WORST AREAS to live in COVENTRY!’, visiting Bell Green, Hillfields, Henley Green, Willenhall and Foleshill. The YouTuber said: “The litter problem in Coventry in general has been crazy.”

“I could have easily done an hour-long montage with all the fly flips and trash I had to go through,” they added. In Hillfields, a pile of rubbish could be seen next to cars in a car park and the amount of litter in Foleshill was called “ridiculous”. In Willenhall, the vlogger claimed fly-tippers were tipping “like crazy”. “The forest is more like a peak than some kind of idyllic escape,” they said.

Bernie S’s comment thinks it’s about the authorities: “You can report the flight tip but the council doesn’t take it.” Deleteme disagrees: “Personal responsibility only means a person’s own responsibility. It doesn’t mean expecting others to clean up after you. So it doesn’t matter who’s in power, the trash shouldn’t be there in the first place.”

Reader Eileen6 writes: “Fivefield Road is being used as a dumping ground. Why can’t people do the right thing and take it to the top? They could throw their rubbish on the doorstep of the council house, those running the council could soon come up with a solution that would please us all.”

Balbirsingh99 believes they know the cause of the problem: “There must be a long-term solution to this problem. Flight pitch is wrong. The main problem is too many inhabitants in each house. Maybe more green bins for rentals.” Sogb writes: “All it takes is for people to have a little pride in where they live.”

Hackettboy says: “It wasn’t like that years ago when everyone took responsibility for the area. Now people throw their rubbish everywhere and expect the council to come and clean it up.”
