ITV’s Coronation Street Abi deepfake ‘exposed’ as fans claim to know perpetrator

Coronation Street viewers are speculating over the identity of Abi Franklin’s tormentor following recent scenes in the ITV series. In the last episode, some fans were led to believe that a certain character might be cleared of suspicion after a heated confrontation. Someone created and shared indecent deepfake videos of Abi online and on social media platforms.

Abi doesn’t know who is behind this and their motives, but she is aware that someone is targeting her. For weeks, viewers have suspected her opponent Cassie Plummer, given her obvious feelings for Abi’s husband Kevin Webster. However, the latest episode left some fans doubting that theory. Cassie was caught ridiculing Abi and her situation, which resulted in her losing her job at the garage.

Cassie seemed to believe that the videos were really Abi’s and not fabricated, while fans also noted that it was unlikely that Cassie would know how to produce such content. She ended up in a row with Abi and Kevin over her remarks, leaving her devastated, the Mirror reports. So if these scenes rule out Cassie, who is the real perpetrator?

Some viewers have picked up on the idea that Max Turner could be responsible following his recent conflict with Kevin. Another hypothesis related to the recent reappearance of Corey Brent, who is currently incarcerated for the murder of Abi’s son, Seb Franklin. Corey appeared in a football-related prison documentary, where he received praise.

Abi was upset with the TV producers involved in the documentary, reminding them of her son’s tragic fate and Corey’s role in it. Speculation is rife among fans as to who might be orchestrating a revenge plot against Abi using deepfake videos.

One viewer speculated on social media: “I think she’s the woman at the center who was helping Corey play football in prison and paid (sic) the guy who interviewed her to edit this stuff as revenge.”

Another fan mused: “I feel like Cassie is the only person who could be behind the deepfakes in regards to the Abia hate but I doubt she has any idea how to do them and she’s definitely too weak to pay someone else… so no idea. But I hate it for Abi.”
