The Civic Hall reopening date has been revealed after a hugely successful funding bid

The reopening of Bedworth Civic Hall has been ‘guaranteed’ after a hugely successful funding bid. It means the location, in the heart of the city, will be able to reopen its doors after four years.

Bedworth Civic Hall CIO, the volunteer-led community group chosen by the borough council to run the venue, has confirmed it has secured funding of £165,000. It says this means the lease with the council can go live and the doors can open in July.

Sam Magrave, group chairman and CEO, said: “We have been awarded £165,000 to deliver our ACT ONE property and community transformation project: Bedworth Civic Hall and Community Hub aka the re-opening. Our offer was well received and we look forward to putting our ideas into practice.”

“We can’t wait for people to come through the doors again.” He went on to thank those who supported the group’s work to secure the future of the venue after the council announced the Civic Hall would not reopen as an entertainment venue once it was no longer used as a Covid-jab centre.

“From those who fought from day one, to those who came to the meetings and those who told us what they wanted to see at the venue and supported us,” he said. “You all made a difference and made this happen. Special thanks to Nikki Marie who sat with me and shared in writing the bid. We did it as a team.”
