Ealing Trailfinders find prop

Ealing Trailfinders have confirmed the signing of James Kenny from Exeter Chiefs ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Kenny, 25, came through Exeter Chiefs’ academy and made 33 first-team appearances, but joins the Championship winners on a permanent deal on a short-term loan with Ealing in the 2023/24 season, making an appearance in the off-season. bench on the last day of the 23/24 season.

During his time with the Chiefs, Kenny registered doubles with National League 1 club Plymouth Albion and Championship side Cornish Pirates and also won honors with England U20s.

Speaking about the move to Ealing Trailfinders, Kenny said: “I was made to feel really welcome by all the players and staff during my loan spell in West London. I’m really excited to be joining such an ambitious side and I hope I can bring a lot to Ealing Trailfinders next year.”

Trailfinders director of rugby Ben Ward added: “James is someone I’ve been following for a while. He has good loosehead competition and we think he is up for the challenge and looking to continue his career.”

While the Chiefs are yet to officially announce the signing, the Premiership club are understood to be bringing in Ealing outfit Jimmy Roots, brother of Exeter’s Ethan, ahead of next season and have been linked with several other players from the Championship side.
