Leeds United talent Charlie Crew has been called up to Wales’ senior squad for internationals against Gibraltar and Slovakia this month.

Now that Leeds’ season is over, many of the squad will be winding down hoping to return to pre-season in July refreshed and ready for another promotion bid.

For others, international football is just around the corner again as the action keeps coming and the Welsh contingent is busy.

Charlie Crew was named in the Wales senior squad for the first time

Wales will miss out on this summer’s European Championships in Germany after a heartbreaking penalty shoot-out defeat to Poland.

So their upcoming internationals are just friendlies against Gibraltar and Slovakia on Thursday and Sunday respectively, but there is an interesting inclusion of Leeds.

U21 midfielder Charlie Crew has been named in Rob Page’s squad among the usual suspects at Elland Road after catching the eye in the Wales youth set-up:

Will Leeds be promoted next season?

Leeds could see Crew step out and make his senior debut in 24/25

It is currently unknown which of Leeds’ first-team stars will be sold to the highest bidder in the summer, including Archie Gray.

However, there is always confidence that Thorp Arch will produce talent ready to take their place in the senior ranks.

Crew has already been on the Leeds bench twice as a 17-year-old, and with international involvement, it’s something Farke could follow suit with.

Having bemoaned the lack of experience in the promotion game, we can’t expect Farke to put the Crew through the paces, but we may have our next up-and-coming talent about to break through.
