Chelsea Madueke interview: We should have beaten Sheffield Utd

Madueke struck for the Blues, who were pegged back in injury time by Oli McBurnie.

He later said: “I don’t mind that it didn’t turn into a winning goal, but our Achilles heel this season was taking advantage of the momentum, we had an amazing result (against Manchester United) and we had to keep going.

“We should have taken the three points today, but we have to keep going.

“It’s always going to be tough coming here in the sense that when Chelsea come to town and, no disrespect, when you’re fighting for your life, you feel like you’ve got nothing to lose.

“It felt like a game we should have won and right up until the end it felt like it.

“There are positives, we are in a semi-final, unbeaten, but these are the games we have to finish. We would have put pressure on the European places with a win today.

“We have to believe we can do it. We have to eliminate these types of games and get the three points.”
