Dan Walker and Helen Skelton announce ‘wonderful news’ after wooing fans

TV hosts Dan Walker and Helen Skelton are reuniting for another travel series – this time set in Yorkshire, after asking fans to help. Taking to Instagram, Dan, 47, announced the ‘wonderful news’ and said they were about to get in front of the cameras together.

Helen, 40, is best friends with Dan and the pair’s new show will be for Channel 5. Dan and Helen said: “Some great news… we’re about to start filming a new series travel for @channel5_tv. Watch this space for more details. We’ll let you know when you can watch us wandering around Yorkshire together as soon as we can (champagne optional).”

The duo previously filmed a four-episode series, going on an adventure exploring the North Pennines. The pair explored the stunning countryside as they got stuck into challenging activities, from cycling along the Snake Pass in the Peak District to trying float-tube fishing and dressing up in bathing suits for to plunge into a river.

At the time Dan from Sheffield appealed to fans to help press for a new series, with former Strictly Come Dancing stars telling viewers they needed to contact Channel 5 to do so. Dan and Helen, from Carlisle, said: “Your comments have really been so kind and encouraging throughout the series and we’ve sent many to the teams at WAG and Channel 5. We’d love to do a second series elsewhere. so make sure you let Channel 5 know if you want another one.”

Fans were excited as jw7508 said, “Yes, I can’t wait to watch your first series. Kathryneasom added: “Oh yeah, that made mine and my husband’s night! Our favorite people walking around our favorite place, I can’t wait!
