A pair who filmed themselves torturing a vulnerable man to death have been jailed for life

Two women who filmed themselves torturing a vulnerable man to death have been told they will serve at least 28 years in prison.

Zoe Rider, 36, and Nicola Lethbridge, 45, attacked their neighbor Stephen Koszyczarski, 60, in his Sheffield flat, recording their sadistic, drug-fuelled attack as who falsely accused him of being a pedophile.

Lethbridge wept on Wednesday as Judge Sarah Wright told Sheffield Crown Court how the pair humiliated and terrified Mr Koszyczarski on August 9 last year.

He died of his injuries two days later.

Judge Wright said: “You were both clearly high on drugs and possibly alcohol.

“Having heard the evidence in the case, I have absolutely no doubt that you entered Stephen’s flat together to threaten, assault and rob him, no doubt to finance his drug use.

“For whatever reason, in the course of that robbery, you decided together to falsely accuse Stephen of being a pedophile.”

She told them: “You dealt with him in the most brutal, heartless and despicable way.

“You launched a vicious and extremely violent joint attack on him.

“You exposed his genitals, threatened to mutilate him and shouted obscenities at him.

“In particular, you failed to listen to his denials of the allegation or to offer him any compassion when he was clearly hurt.”

The judge said: “The purpose of your attack was to rob him and humiliate him, terrify and injure him.

“You left him clearly disoriented, injured and bleeding, with 22 separate wounds around his face, head and body.”

Rider and Lethbridge, both of Fraser Drive, Woodseats, Sheffield, were found guilty of murder and robbery earlier this year.

They were each sentenced to 13 years in prison for robbing Mr Koszyczarski, to run concurrently with their life sentences.
