The Bude Group celebrates 45 years of French twinning

On Saturday 18th May, visitors and hosts were warmly welcomed by Bude-Stratton Town Council in the Parkhouse Centre, where the Breton flag (‘Gwenn-ha-Du’ in Breton) was flown. The newly elected Mayor, Cllr Steven Haynes, gave an insightful and welcome speech, stressing the importance of sharing common ground and promoting good international relations, especially in times of heightened tension. He then presented a framed architectural drawing of the Storm Tower and a newly published book on the history of Bude Castle to the president of the Ergué-Gabéric Brotherhood Association, who in return presented us with a basket of delicacies from Brittany. .
