Lower Ford Street video captures the moment the street brawl breaks out as motorists look on

Shocking video has captured the moment a violent street brawl breaks out in Coventry. He catches two nameless men throwing punches on lower Ford Street.

Witnesses called 999 to report a collision involving two cars at around 7pm on Wednesday (May 29). Footage obtained by CoventryLive appears to show one of the vehicles hitting the second before ending up in a grassy area on Lower Ford Street.

One of the men can be seen approaching the second man as a violent altercation takes place in front of horrified onlookers who witnessed punches. The footage ends after both men exchange words and then walk in opposite directions.

One of the men involved has been arrested on suspicion of affray, West Midlands Police said. He has since been released on bail with inquiries into the incident said to be “ongoing”.

Anyone who witnessed the incident has been urged to contact West Midlands Police. Information can also be given to Crimestoppers.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “Officers attended reports of a collision on Lower Ford Street in Coventry at around 7pm on Wednesday (May 29) involving two vehicles. Following the collision, a disturbance broke out.

“A man was arrested on suspicion of affray and has since been released on bail while inquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting crime reference 20/538415/24.”
