Save hundreds on the Sky Stream package that comes with free Netflix and the new Ultra HD quality

Sky surprised its customers by offering the ‘Ultra HD’ add-on for free. The bonus comes with its popular Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix contract, which is already reduced to a much cheaper £26 a month.

So Sky buyers already save £108 on its entire 18-month contract, but the inclusion of free Ultra HD will offer even better value for money, with an extra £6 a month saving. That’s a total of £288.

For those unfamiliar with it, the deal includes the Stream box plug-in (which can connect to any TV with an HDMI port) along with a basic Netflix account and Sky TV channels. The Ultra High Definition (UHD) feature can be added for an extra £6 per month on top of the Sky Stream package price.

This feature will now be included at no extra cost, as stated on the Sky website: “Includes Ultra HD with us”. Without this price cut in the existing Sky Stream bundle and the removal of the Ultra HD charge, the bundle would have added £12 a month to the bill.

The Ultra High Definition (UHD) function improves the picture quality, enhancing the viewing experience. With four times more pixels than standard HD TV, viewers can expect more detail when watching sports, movies and other TV shows.

The Sky Stream box, which requires no satellite dishes or installation fees, can be used on older TVs – as long as they have an HDMI port. This gives viewers without the latest smart TV a chance to enjoy better quality viewing for a fraction of the price it would cost if it were built into the TV like the Sky Glass set.

The sleek Sky Glass TV is often seen as a step up from its simple plug-in Stream box, offering all the features of its smart TV box and more, all in one smart device. It’s also another product that’s been reduced in price as part of its ongoing sale, it’s now available for a much cheaper £11 per month.

In other TV deals, Samsung has included its TVs in its cashback sale, just in time for sports-loving fans and the upcoming Euro Championship 2024. The Galaxy retailer will offer shoppers up to £500 cash back when they buy select models .

Amazon is also getting in on the TV price action with discounts on its Fire TVs. Often seen as a cheaper alternative to the Sky Glass set, shoppers can find discounts of up to £200 on Fire devices.
