The girl who hides warm notes that “make people smile”

A kind-hearted young woman spread joy at a local library to ‘make people smile’. Megan Fisher wrote a series of heart-warming notes which she then hid at Bulkington Library.

Megan, from Nuneaton, had the thoughtful idea while visiting Bulkington Library with her baby and two-year-old cousin over Easter. She said she feels joy in making others “smile and feel happy.”

Just days ago, one of her heartwarming notes was found by a 5-year-old boy who said it “filled his heart”. Toby came across the note while reading and was said to be “full of happiness”.

Mum Marie Fisher said her daughter Megan, 13, has “always” enjoyed making thoughtful gestures for family and friends because she is “good at heart”. She said, “It’s just her!

“Megan has always done it with me, so she’ll leave me little notes like, ‘Have a nice day!’ She’ll put them in my makeup bag and in my drawers where she knows I’ll be going.”

Marie, 43, added: ‘It’s great what she’s done and she’s so good, she loves making people happy. She’s so pleased with herself.”

Megan said she hid “lots” of notes in books for people to find “to make them smile”. It included a lovely note that read: “You are beautiful!” which was found by a 5-year-old boy named Toby.

Foster carer Michelle Bonsor said the note “filled her heart so much” and “made her day so much happier”. She said: “Toby talked a lot about his find and was so happy to find it!

“It meant a lot to him and he literally exploded. It played a huge part in putting a huge smile on her face!”

Megan told CoventryLive that she was ‘really happy’ to make her day, saying: ‘I think the world is so depressing and there are quite a few bad people so it’s quite nice to make them make people smile and make them happy. ”

Mum Marie added: “It’s just lovely as there is a lot of sadness and gloom in the world and her kind words made someone’s day. You don’t know what people are going through, so it’s just wonderful.”
