An 80-year-old man was taken to hospital after the accident

An 80-year-old man was taken to hospital following a crash in Ashby today (Thursday 6 June). Leicestershire Police said the crash, on Nottingham Road, involved two cars and a lorry.

The force said that, following initial investigations, the 80-year-old man who was driving one of the cars was believed to have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash. He is said to be currently receiving treatment in hospital. The severity of his condition was not disclosed.




Police said the roads were closed after officers were called to the scene at 8.05am. Nottingham Road and the A511 roundabout were closed following the incident, as well as the A511 itself.
