Brent Hart among rising players on Day 2 of Event #16: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em | 2024 World Series of Poker

Day 2 is in the cards and Brent Hart is among the chip leaders in Event #16: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em TO 2024 World Series of Poker TO Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.

Hart started Day 2 with 200,000 before appearing at levels 11-20. He finished the day with an impressive 1,750,000, the sixth largest stack in the field.

A total of three players broke the 2,000,000 mark, led by Shant Marashlian (2,785,000), Anthony Cierco (2,275,000) and Mark Tarich (2,255,000) complete the list. Nate Silverwho accumulated 1,885,000, is fifth in chips.

The event attracted 823 participants and registration closed after Level 11. The number of registered players generated a prize pool of $3,785,800, with first place paying $660,284.

The bubble burst when the field reached 124 players at Level 16, and now 41 players have advanced to Day 3.

The Day 2 field was loaded with star power, including two Poker Hall of Famers Eric Seidel and John Juandawhich made the money, but Juanda will not advance to Day 3 after stopping just before the end of Level 20.

The advancing field also boasted multiple WSOP bracelet winners Brian Rast, Corey Thompson, Sam Soverel, Ivan Deyra, Alexandre Reard and Darius Samuel, among others. Each of the group is looking for another event championship, and with it, the coveted gold bracelet.

But the road to victory won’t be easy, as players like Hart and even Aaron Thomaswho started the day with 42,500 before shelling out 1,000,000, offers obstacles to every player in the field.

The remaining 41 participants are scheduled to return at 1:00 p.m. local time on June 6 for Day 3 at Horseshoe and Paris Vegaswith 10,000/20,000 blinds and a 20,000 ante at Level 21.

Players will have a 15-minute break every two levels, with a 60-minute dinner break after Level 26. Participants are scheduled to play down to the last five players and then reconvene on Friday for Day 4.
