No apologies at Birmingham airport as bosses say ‘we’re as busy as you’d expect’ – full statement

Birmingham Airport has not apologized to passengers despite a chaotic morning with queues outside the hub. Instead, airport bosses said the airport was “naturally busy as you would expect for a Friday getaway”.

It came after angry passengers today claimed they were forced to endure almost two-hour queues to get through security. Airport bosses have been met with fresh complaints that their operation is a “sham”.




Furious passenger Margaret Burke said: “Shame on the airport management – how dare passengers be treated with such disrespect. “Not a good look for Birmingham,” said another.

The airport issued a statement following the morning delays. But he chose not to apologise, despite countless customer complaints.

An airport spokesperson told us: “With construction work underway and liquid restrictions in place, the airport was naturally busy as you would expect for a Friday getaway. Queues can be seen daily at peak times, which is natural for any airport.

“A picture of a tail is subjective, and in the moment, at the time. We strongly advise that customers follow our advice and only show up in accordance with check-in opening hours.

“We ask customers to check our social channels and website and follow our simple instructions to make traveling through BHX easier for everyone.”
