Stockport County are gearing up for life in League One following their recent promotion.

Stockport County won the League Two title and went up alongside Wrexham, Mansfield Town and Crawley Town.

The Hatters have cut ties with a number of players recently, including Paddy Madden, Antoni Sarcevic, Connor Lemonheigh-Evans, Myles Hippolyte and Neill Byrne.

They have a few vacancies to fill in their team over the next couple of months. With that in mind, here’s a look at the players who have been linked with them so far…

Louie Barry

Stockport County would like to bring the Aston Villa striker back in some capacity in the next transfer window.

How likely is a deal?

Other clubs are expected to be excited too. The Hatters owner Mark Stott told the club’s official YouTube channel: “There will be Championship clubs looking at Louie. I would really like to buy it.

“At his age, with his talent, this is the type of player who can unlock real value. Yes, I’d love to say he’ll be here forever, but we should sign Louie Barry and give him the platform to become a Premier League player in the future.”

Lewis Gordon

Dave Challinor’s side have been linked with a move to captain St Johnstone as they look to strengthen their defensive department.

How likely is a deal?

Gordon’s contract expires at the end of the month, meaning he will become available as a free agent as things stand.

Mallik Wilks

He appears to have popped up on Stockport County’s radar as they hunt for some reinforcements.

How likely is a deal?

Football Insider suggests Charlton Athletic and Reading are also admirers. Wilks, who has been at Leeds United and Hull City in the past, is expected to be on the way out the Hillsborough exit after falling out of favor under Danny Rohl.

Amadou Bakayoko

The Hatters are said to be keen on the former Coventry City and Bolton Wanderers striker from Forest Green Rovers following his loan spell at Dundee last term.

How likely is a deal?

Bakayoko is likely to leave his current club following their relegation to the National League. However, Football Sierra Leone claim Charlton Athletic, Tranmere Rovers and Salford City as him.

Clark Robertson

Stockport County are said to be interested in luring the experienced centre-back to England following his departure from FC Ashdod in Israel.

How likely is a deal?

There will be competition for his signature from other Football League sides. According to the Daily Record, MK Dons and Bristol Rovers are also in the frame.
