Police update that “several shots” were fired at the Sheffield home

Police issued another statement after “several shots” were fired at a house in Sheffield.

Police officers were made aware of a reported discharge of firearms in Lyons Road, Sheffield at 3.37pm on Thursday June 6, which is believed to have taken place the previous week. Several shots are reported to have been fired at a property on Lyons Road in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, causing damage. Fortunately, the occupant was unharmed during the incident.



An investigation was launched and a scene was brought to the scene for a search which has now been completed and the scene has been cordoned off. Increased police patrols are also taking place in the area following the incident.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Claire Moss, said: “This shocking incident could very easily have caused serious injury or even death as shots were fired into an occupied property and it was only by chance that no one was injured.

“Officers are determined to ensure the safety and peace of mind of residents in the area who may have been affected by this incident. Anyone with information that could help us identify those responsible is urged to come forward. We will take decisive action to tackle gun crime in South Yorkshire.
