Audi and Mercedes crash in Coventry – police update

Police have issued an update after a pedestrian suffered life-changing injuries when he was hit by a car in Coventry. The collision happened earlier this week on Sky Blue Way.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the collision, which is believed to have involved an Audi and a Mercedes. It happened at the Lower Ford Street junction at around 1pm on Wednesday (June 5).



Police are understood to have questioned the unnamed man after he was arrested at the scene of the collision on Wednesday (June 5). He has since been released under investigation, West Midlands Police told CoventryLive.

Police said the victim, a man in his 20s, suffered serious and potentially life-changing injuries. He was taken to Coventry and Warwickshire University Hospital.

Paramedics also treated two unnamed men who suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to UHCW in Walsgrave.

Sky Blue Way remained closed for several hours while investigations took place on Wednesday (June 5). Buses also had to be diverted, National Express said.
