Former Celtic manager announced as new manager of Birmingham City

Celtic have been home to some top managers in recent years, as well as those who have fallen out of favor after leaving Parkhead. Now a manager who has a history with both Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou has landed his first managerial job as he takes over the Birmingham City hot seat.

Birmingham City are not in a good situation at the moment. The club was relegated to League One after finishing the 23/24 season in 22nd place in the English Championship.

It is now Chris Davies who has been handed the Birmingham City manager’s job and it remains to be seen if he can guide them back to the Championship. Of course, he previously spent time in a coaching role at Celtic during Rodgers’ first spell at Parkhead.

As reported by Birmingham City’s official website, the club can confirm the appointment of Davies as men’s first team manager. He has signed a four-year contract and joins from Tottenham Hotspur with immediate effect.

Davies spent several years working with Rodgers. He was with the Northern Irishman at Swansea City, Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City. He also worked with Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Thus Davies worked with some brilliant managers. Now, it remains to be seen whether he can translate that into his own managerial work. We can only wish him the best of luck and hope he has a successful spell at Birmingham City.

Celtic will be ringing in some changes this summer, but most of them are expected to be on the pitch. The club are coming off a Premiership and Scottish Cup double, and yet the general feeling is that they have plenty of room for improvement.
