The Warrington v Wigan Wembley showdown may prove a fitting tribute to Rob Burrow

Excitement is running high around Saturday’s Challenge Cup final and a classic could follow between two old rugby league rivals. Given the incredible scale of the fundraising efforts in his name, it was easy to forget that Rob Burrow achieved a lot as a rugby league player. On the field, perhaps his greatest feat was being an integral part of the Leeds Rhinos team that won the domestic treble in 2015, only the third team to do so this century. to celebrate Burrow’s life in Saturday’s Challenge Cup final, the two teams battling for glory at Wembley will consider themselves real contenders to emulate the heroics of that Leeds side in which Burrow played so prominently nine years ago.
