Candidates for the 2024 Stratford-on-Avon General Election

Stratford-on-Avon is getting a new MP at the 2024 general election – whoever wins. Nadhim Zahawi has announced that he is stepping down as the city’s Conservative MP.

Stratford-on-Avon has been a Tory seat since 1997 – meaning Labor failed to win during the Blair years. Last time, Zahawi polled more than 60% of the vote, with the Liberal Democrats in second place.

This time, Chris Clarkson is for the Tories. It comes at a time when Rishi Sunak is under significant pressure despite the Conservatives winning an 80-seat majority in the last round.

The good news for Sunak is that Electoral Calculus thinks the Conservatives will win this round. The constituency is focused on the city of Stratford-upon-Avon, but also includes the surrounding areas around the city, including the towns of Alcester and Henley-in-Arden.

Who lives in Stratford-on-Avon?

  • James Crocker – Reform Britain
