The European heavyweights are not interested in a permanent move for the Leeds United star

Leeds United right-back Rasmus Kristensen, currently on loan at AS Roma, is set to return to Elland Road at the end of the season.

The Danish defender left Leeds on a season-long loan at the Italian club last summer, featuring prominently in Serie A and the Coppa Italia throughout the campaign.

Kristensen made 29 appearances for AS Roma, contributing one goal and 2 assists.

The 26-year-old Kristensen boasts a versatile skill set, having shown his ability to operate in various positions in the back line as well as in midfield.

His versatility saw him 13 times at right midfield, 7 times as the main right back, 4 times in central defense and three times on the left flank.

However, despite his productive loan spell in Italy, Football Insider reported that Roma have no intention of making Kristensen’s stay permanent, with the defender set to return to Elland Road.

Interestingly, it has also been reported that the defender is not part of Daniel Farke’s plans either, meaning he would not be staying at Leeds either, despite his contract running until June 2027.

The Whites signed Kristensen in the summer of 2022 on a five-year contract from RB Salzburg for a transfer fee of €13 million.

The defender made 30 appearances for Leeds, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist in his only season for the club.

Leeds United will play Norwich City in the first leg of the Championship play-offs, which start on Sunday.

If they can beat David Wagner’s side, they will face either Southampton or West Brom in the final.
