Leicestershire’s ‘simply delightful’ chocolate box cottage is on the market

A ‘simply delightful’ chocolate box cottage in Leicestershire has gone on the market. According to estate agents, potential buyers are being urged to take advantage of the “rare” opportunity to snap up their properties.

Ivy Cottage is situated on the main street of Newbold Verdon and is believed to be one of the oldest buildings in the village. The Georgian cottage is being hailed by estate agents Kings and Rightmove as ‘one of the finest’ properties in all of Leicestershire.

The Grade II listed cottage has a fresh thatched roof to add to the chocolate box charm, while it also has four “spacious” bedrooms. A detached garage and workshop are also part of the offer.

If that’s not enough, the estate agents reveal the cottage has a summer house, conservatory, conservatory and “beautiful large” gardens. “Simply delightful” inside and out, Ivy Cottage is believed to have belonged to the same family for generations. The estate agents say the property has been “lovingly cared for” and has been maintained to an “exceptionally high standard”, with handcrafted items forming part of the home.

Along with a “modern white oak” kitchen and a “rustic antique” collection of solid oak floors, the cottage has a beautiful front garden with gated access. To the rear is the large ‘generous’ garden with land large enough for a potential second home to be built on site. This, estate agents say, is subject to any planning permission.

The cottage is seeking offers in and around £400,000, with more information available on Rightmove. Take a tour of the property in our gallery below.
