M6 footage as the air ambulance lands on the motorway after the car overturned near Coventry

Pictures revealed the large 999 presence that rushed to the scene of a serious accident on the M6 ​​today. The multiple collision happened this morning, Saturday 8 June, between junction 3 and junction 2 southbound on the motorway.

Footage has now revealed the scale of the 999 operation. The air ambulance landed on the motorway and police vehicles and fire engines were also in attendance, alongside paramedics.

The road was closed on that stretch from around 9am. The air ambulance as well as Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue attended the incident.

As of 1:25 p.m., the road remained closed. Motorists were warned to avoid the area.

Deviations are also in place. As a result, there was heavy traffic, with the A444 also affected north of Coventry.

The latest statement from National Highways, posted this morning after the crash, said: “The M6 ​​in Warwickshire has been closed southbound between J3 and J2 near Coventry following a serious multi-vehicle collision. All emergency services, including the air ambulance, are at the scene in a response led by Warwickshire Police.”
