Dave Day sees people lining the M6 ​​bridges for Hairy Bikers’ Dave Myers as Si King turns up

People in parts of the UK have taken to roads and motorways to pay tribute to hairy biker Dave Myers. Dave’s Day is expected to see around 20,000 people honoring the Hairy Bikers legend.

Fellow motorcyclist Hairy Si King, who stopped by the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull today as part of the special day, said: “It’s a celebration of the best friend we’ve lost.” His words came as people stood on bridges in many parts of the M6 ​​to watch a procession in Dave’s honor pass by.




Myers’ widow, Lili Myers, told BBC Breakfast: ‘We have people coming from all over the country. We have people coming from Texas, from Malaysia, from all over Europe.

“Oh, that’s nice. It just helps me through my grieving process. Because it makes me feel like I’m not alone in all of this.

“He always cooked, that was his territory. I was not allowed to enter the kitchen, only to clean the kitchen and, I tell you, he cooks for an hour, I clean for two. He knew how to create a moment. That was his strong point.”

Myers died in February at the age of 66 after suffering from cancer. Dave’s Day was held in his home town of Barrow-in-Furness today, Saturday June 8, to celebrate his life.
