Arsenal are planning a trophy parade if they beat Manchester City to the title

Arsenal plan to hold a trophy parade the day after the season ends if they win the Premier League title.

The Gunners last won the English top flight in 2004 and currently sit top of the table after 36 games.

However, they are just one point ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

They need to win their last two games against Manchester United and Everton and hope the reigning champions drop points against Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur or West Ham United.

Arsenal are hoping one of their London rivals will do them a favor when they face Man City and are preparing for an open-top bus parade if that happens.

As reported by The Athletic, an email sent to residents from Islington Council’s deputy director of civil protection read: “I am writing to inform you of a potential Arsenal Football Club parade on Monday 20 May at 5pm.

“If Arsenal Football Club manage to win the Premier League, there would be a bus parade. It would start and finish at the Emirates Stadium, passing through the Town Hall on Upper Street, Islington.”

The parade will return to the stadium by 7pm and the Arsenal team will make a brief appearance on the catwalk above the club shop until 8pm – when the festivities are scheduled to end.

The Gunners followed the same route last time they won the league and will do so again if they succeed in their bid to end their 20-year title drought.

The title could be decided on the final day of the campaign if Arsenal secure a win against Man United on Sunday and Man City earn maximum points against Fulham and Spurs.
