Eberechi Eze ‘on the radar of Liverpool and Tottenham’ and has a release clause | Football | Sports

Liverpool and Tottenham are reportedly set to battle it out for the signature of Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze.

The playmaker impressed last season, his form improving significantly following the arrival of Oliver Glasner in the closing months of the campaign.

The versatile playmaker has scored 11 goals and registered four assists in 27 league appearances for the Eagles and his performances have not gone unnoticed among the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’.

Liverpool and Tottenham are both keen to strengthen their attacking ranks this summer and TBR Football report that Eze is being targeted by both outfits as part of their respective overhauls.

The 25-year-old signed a new deal with Palace at the end of last year, which is said to have a release clause worth “at least £60m” inserted into his contract.

The Eagles have insisted they have no interest in entertainment offers that fall under Eze’s release clause and that any fee would have to be paid in full rather than negotiating deals that would see a different payment structure discussed.

Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Eze previously and Pep Guardiola’s side could be looking for creative reinforcements if Bernardo Silva leaves. City have previously been linked with Lucas Paqueta, but the West Ham man is no longer seen as a suitable option as he has been charged by the FA for breaching betting rules.

Liverpool will be hoping to fend off the title holders’ interest in Eze by activating his release clause sooner rather than later, and a fee of around £60m could quickly become a bargain if the former QPR star impresses at the Euros after England selection.
