The youngster’s performances would not have gone unnoticed in north London, with Ange Postecoglou keen to bring in a suitable back-up for Pedro Porro.

After deciding to listen to offers for Emerson Royal, the Lilywhites are now said to have set their sights on Gray.

It is explained that the 18-year-old has made a “huge impression” on Tottenham’s scouts, who have been watching him closely in recent months.

Tottenham have expressed an interest in signing Archie Gray

Spurs have now expressed their “concrete interest” in signing the youngster, who is also believed to be on the radar of several other top clubs ahead of the summer.

The England U21 international is under contract in West Yorkshire until 2028 and the report says Leeds will do “whatever they can” to keep their graduate.

However, it is stressed that the Championship club need to raise significant funds this summer to make up the losses and are said to be “susceptible to offers” for Gray.

Spurs Web Opinion

One can see why Tottenham are keen on Gray as Postecoglou’s system requires full-backs who are comfortable receiving the ball centrally.

The Australian could relish his chances of getting the best out of the talented 18-year-old over the next couple of years.
