Bavarian Oktoberfest will take place in Wiltshire

People are being given the chance to immerse themselves in Germany’s vibrant culture at Trowbridge’s Oktoberfest.

The event will take place at the city’s Civic Center on Saturday, October 19.

In Germany, the Bavarian Oktoberfest held in Munich from September 21 to October 6 is one of the largest folk festivals in the world, with a tradition of 189 years.

It usually features parades, live music concerts, fairground attractions, beer tents serving from 9:00am to 11:30pm, and plenty of food and trade stalls.

Now those behind the Wiltshire event are committed to transforming the center into a hub of Bavarian festivity over four nights.

The venue will be decked out in all the traditional hallmarks of a Bavarian Bier Halle with blue and white decor, disco balls and chandeliers.

There will also be colorful drapes, communal tables and a stage for live music.

A spokesperson for the center said: “This is a night not to be missed. For an evening of beer drinking, sausage eating, shirt dressing, table dancing and merrymaking, book your tickets now to secure your spot. , or you’ll regret missing it.”

It will satisfy tradition with a selection of Bavarian classics, including the famous Bratwurst and sauerkraut and Frankfurters.
