Homemade Mr Blobby costume terrifies online users, listed for £999 on eBay | Leicestershire Live

A terrible homemade Mr Blobby outfit has surfaced online. Many are said to be spooked by the creation which bears little resemblance to the iconic 1990s TV character.

The custom costume, which bears some resemblance to the Noel’s House Party character, has been up for auction on eBay for a few days and has sparked quite a reaction among Reddit users. It has been humorously called “Mr. Blobby’s cousin” by some users and has even been given its own name, the Express reports.

The stunning – or shocking – creation is currently listed at £999, with many unable to contain their surprise at the design. One person said: “I was just looking at Mr. Bobby’s costume after reading the post here, and it popped up as a shopping recommendation… Utterly terrifying, like a furry’s take on wrinkly-bottomed HP Lovecraft.”

Unsurprisingly, the costume’s garish look didn’t sit well with many Reddit users, who described it as “the stuff of nightmares.” Some insisted that it be destroyed.

One said, “Kill him before he lays eggs.” Others were appalled but equally drawn to the creation. One person said: “This is absolutely awful. Where can I buy one? (Requesting a friend).”

In response, the original poster said that interested parties could purchase the home outfit for close to £1,000 on eBay. Although they made it clear that it should only be purchased if people intend to “perform an exorcism” after purchase.

They said: “Auction link in the post…. It’s handmade but a bit expensive at high – but open to offers apparently. My offer would be to perform an exorcism before cremating him to release all trapped souls.”

The eBay listing remains active and attests that the suit is built “to a good standard”. The full listing states that the costume is adult sized and in “used condition.”

It adds: “The empty inside would look better with the packaging. Set of 3 parts. Hand stitched. I think it was handcrafted to a good standard.”

Despite the apparent high quality, some Reddit users claim to suffer from insomnia after viewing images of the design. said, “This should have a trigger warning, I’m not going to sleep tonight now.” A second said: “Just when you thought Mr Blobby couldn’t be cursed anymore..”
