The driver and his fellow “balloon suckers” stopped on their way to Parklife

A group of revelers heading to Parklife were caught by traffic officers after they were spotted ‘high as kites’ behind the wheel.

Hailed as the UK’s premier urban music festival, Parklife kicked off at Heaton Park on June 8, featuring a mix of top and emerging acts. The event, scheduled to continue today, attracts around 80,000 participants daily. Greater Manchester Police reported that before the festivities began, security staff at the scene detained a man who was acting suspiciously shortly after 3pm on Friday (June 7).

The team seized a substantial amount of nitrous oxide, now classified as a Class C substance, from him, according to the force. Later, a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. On Sunday morning (June 9), GMP Traffic took to social media to announce the arrest of another group en route to Parklife, MEN reports.

The individuals, who were traveling from Bristol, were seen “riding all the NoX (nitrogen oxide) balloons” and appeared “high as kites”. The update on social media said they were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

The post detailed: “Driver and colleagues arrive at @Parklifefest after traveling from Bristol, seen driving all sucking NoX balloons, high as kites. Positive search, all blocked PWITS class B and C”.

Referencing a classic line from the 1983 film ‘Scarface’ starring Al Pacino, the post quipped: “We think Gen X dealers need to watch some 80’s movies – Don’t crowd your supply!”.
