The BBC’s Martine Croxall fights back tears as she breaks the news to Michael Mosley

BBC News Leicestershire presenter Martine Croxall was visibly upset as she gave the heartbreaking update on the search for TV doctor Michael Mosley. The presenter was visibly stunned as she shared the news that a body had been found.

Martine, who was born and raised in Stoke Golding, near Hinckley, broke the news in the early hours of Sunday morning (June 9) that searchers had found a body in the search for Dr Michael Mosley. The global community was left in shock after it was first reported that the This Morning star had gone missing on the Greek island of Symi, the Mirror reports.




CCTV tracked some of Michael’s last known movements before his body was found on Sunday. A visibly shocked Martine broke the news, telling viewers: “We have reports from the Greek island of Symi that a body has been found in the search for TV and radio presenter Michael Mosley.”

Martine continued: “A rescuer spoke to the BBC in the last few minutes. Authorities searched for Dr. Mosley in a remote mountainous area of ​​the island. He went missing on Wednesday after leaving his wife on the beach. and went for a walk around lunchtime, his wife, Dr. Claire Bailey, said he ran out of phone.

The body has not yet been officially identified by authorities as Dr Mosley’s, but his wife issued a heartbreaking tribute confirming her husband’s death. She said: “I don’t know exactly where to start with this. It is devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband. We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and we were so long. happy together.

“I’m incredibly proud of our kids, their resilience and support over the last few days. My family and I have been extremely comforted by the outpouring of love from people all over the world. It’s clear that Michael meant a lot to many of them. you.”

Dr Mosley has been a familiar face on British TV, from appearances on ITV’s This Morning to BBC’s The One Show. Search teams revealed the body was located by search teams equipped with cameras on Sunday near a cave area where Dr Mosley was believed to have gone.
