Brewery teams up with Cornwall Pride to release limited edition beer

St Austell Brewery and Cornwall Pride have joined forces to promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the brewery’s operations.

To celebrate the partnership, they launched a charity beer in honor of Pride Month as part of a wider bid to promote an inclusive environment.

An Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Steering Committee has been established, chaired by Executive Director, Kevin Georgel.

In addition, an advisory group of more than 20 volunteers from the various divisions of the brewery will provide feedback and ideas to the committee.

Volunteers joined Cornwall Pride last month to brew limited edition beer called ‘Beer is Beer’.

This particular tower is a 4.2% New York pale ale, full of citrus and papaya flavors.

The beer is currently available in pubs across the South West.

For every pint sold, a 5p donation will go to the charity.

Furthermore, St Austell Brewery and Cornwall Pride will be co-hosting a ‘Pride Inclusion Breakfast’ with the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce on Thursday 6 July, which will be held at the brewery’s Royal Cornwall Show stand.

Cornwall Pride CEO Matthew Kenworthy Gomes, along with various Cornwall businesses, will be hosting talks about individual experiences of inclusion.

St Austell Brewery’s HR Director Kate Price said: “As part of our growth strategy, we are on a mission to become the number one employer of choice in the South West.

“A key part of this is looking at how we ensure that all workplaces – our pubs, breweries and warehouses – are places where people feel safe, included and accepted, welcoming everyone equally and from all backgrounds.”

Beer is Beer is available in selected pubs across the South West now and you can find your nearest pub serving the limited edition Pride beer by visiting: staustellbrewery.co.uk/beers-brewery/cask-club
