M6 woman seriously injured in crash near Coventry

A woman has been seriously injured in a crash on the M6. The collision happened near Coventry between junction 3 and junction 2 southbound.

An air ambulance landed on the highway to pick up a patient. A car was seen overturned at the scene.



National Highways officials said several vehicles were involved. Two trucks were seen at the crash site a few meters away from the car, although it remains unclear if they were involved in the crash.

In a statement, Warwickshire Police said today: “Police were called at around 9.15am on Saturday 8 June to reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a car on the M6 ​​between junction two and three. Emergency services intervened and a 50-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains in a stable condition.”

Road closures remained in place for several hours after the crash. Several police cars were called to the incident, along with health workers and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue.

Various were put in place after the accident. People were also told to avoid the area.

Motorists heading north on the M6 ​​were also delayed for some time by police before that route was reopened. Many people took to X, formerly Twitter, to report being caught in the queues.
