Long diversion from south Bristol as the triangle junction closes for a month

A three-point junction south of Bristol will close from today (Monday 10 June) until Friday 5 July as the road is resurfaced. Charlton Road will close from Charlton Field Lane to Parkhouse Lane in Keynsham, while Queen Charlton Lane will close at the triangular junction with Charlton Road.

Queen Charlton Lane will close from the Charlton Road junction to Redlynch Lane. One.Network lists the work taken as road restoration.

Three diversions will be in place, depending on where the driver is on the North Somerset road. The main diversion is almost eight miles in length in south Bristol.

The main diversion, for motorists heading south from the road closures on Charlton Road, will see motorists pass through Whitchurch, Hengrove, Brislington and Keynsham. The diversion follows Charlton Road, Woollard Lane, the A37 Bristol Road (heading north) and continues on the A37 turning onto the A4174 Wootton Park heading east.

Motorists will then follow the A4174 and turn right onto the A4 Bath Road to the Hick’s Gate roundabout and join the A4175 Durley Hill and Bristol Road. Motorists can then turn onto Charlton Road.

For drivers starting in Queen Charlton, they should take Queen Charlton Lane heading west until it joins Woollard Lane and then follow the main diversion. For drivers heading towards Queen Charlton, it’s the same diversion and vice versa.
