‘He’s grown’… Tony Cascarino claims Liverpool player has recently reached ‘another level’

Liverpool have a number of quality operators in their ranks right now and Tony Cascarino believes one of their internationals has gone to another level.

The Reds are part of a group of Premier League sides with a number of players taking part in Euro 2024 this summer.

The likes of Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai will all be in Germany hoping to bring home the famous trophy.

And according to Tony Cascarino, one of those players mentioned above has seen his game go to a new level thanks to his performances at the international level.

Andy Robertson has reached a ‘new level’ after playing for Scotland

Speaking to talkSPORT about the Liverpool left-back, Cascarino acknowledged his role in Scotland as crucial for him to improve further.

“Andy Robertson, the captain, I think has reached a new level for Scotland as well,” Cascarino said.

“Steve Clarke in midweek talked about him and talked about his leadership qualities. I think he’s grown.”

Robertson will be vital for Arne Slot

There are a number of players in this Liverpool squad that new manager Arne Slot will no doubt look to to help him establish himself as Reds boss.

Van Dijk, Alisson and Mohamed Salah will be seen as key senior players who should be able to help Slot make a smooth transition to Anfield.

However, a player like Andy Robertson will also be massive for the new Reds boss.

The Scot plays with an attitude and temperament that very much demonstrates what everyone at Anfield loved in the Jurgen Klopp era.

Robertson, then, will be vital for Slot and Liverpool over the next six months.

Let’s hope the defender has a great Euro with Scotland and then comes back next season ready to put his injury problems behind him and get the job done.
