The fire service is issuing “avoid” warnings as crews battle the Dalton Mills blaze

Fire crews from across Yorkshire attended a fire at a prominent Keighley factory.

Dalton Mills, who has appeared in a number of popular TV shows such as Peaky Blinders, caught fire this morning with a number of fire crews in attendance. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have now said the fire has been extinguished but crews remain at the scene to wet down the mill.




According to the fire service, crews from Bingley, Keighley, Bradford, Fairweather, Shipley, Ilkley, Illingworth, Rawdon, Halifax, Stanningley and Odsal were all in attendance. An aerial apparatus was also at the scene.

The fire service was called to Dalton Mills at 7.14am this morning where the third and fourth floors of the building had caught fire. The building was 40 percent ablaze.

In addition, firefighters asked residents to avoid the area around Dalton Lane due to the fire. Five crews remain on site to wet down the building.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “We currently have ten crews attending a fire at Dalton Mills in Keighley.
