Police appeal for information as man in critical condition after Sheffield attack

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted on a street in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police say the 23-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital after the attack in Staniforth Road, Darnell, on Saturday 8 June. from the questions.

The force says an investigation is ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage that could help the investigation to come forward.

A spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service at 4.36pm yesterday (June 8) to reports of a serious assault on Staniforth Road in the Darnall area of ​​Sheffield.

“A 23-year-old man was assaulted and suffered serious head injuries. The 23-year-old man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Staniforth Road was closed for a short time yesterday while the officers were carrying out their work and it has since reopened.

“Investigations are ongoing and a team of officers are carrying out extensive inquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident. Our neighborhood officers are patrolling the area over the next few days. Anyone with concerns is encouraged to stop and speak to officers who are there to support the local community.
