Meadow Park School lives on as pupils ‘sent home and site evacuated’

A secondary school in Coventry has been ‘evacuated’ following an incident this morning (Monday 10 June). Meadow Park School in Whitley will remain closed for the rest of today, it is reported.

The students were reportedly sent home following an incident believed to have taken place at around 8.30am. Police are also at the scene on Abbey Road.




Only Year 11s have been told they can attend with “alternative arrangements” for their GCSE exams, it is understood. Parents were told to send their children where they would then receive “further instruction”.

One woman, whose child attends Meadow Park School, said she had not been told the reason for the evacuation this morning (June 10). She said the sudden closure made her feel very “concerned”.

Instructions for Year 11

Year 11 students have been told they can still take part as they have GCSE exams today (June 10).

It is believed they will not be on site today but have been transferred to Finham Park School.

Message from Meadow Park School

Meadow Park School issued a statement regarding the closure this morning (Monday, June 10).

It said: “Due to an evacuation the school is closed to all pupils except Year 11. Alternative arrangements are being made for their exams. Please send Year 11 pupils to school as normal where they will receive further instruction.’
