One person has been left with life-changing injuries after an incident at New Malden station.

A victim on the tracks was reported to police at the Coombe Road station just before 10.15am on June 8.

Crews from the London Ambulance Service attended and one person was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.

Southwestern Railway confirmed on X (officially known as Twitter) that New Malden station was closed as the incident was dealt with.

In an update around 1 p.m., it added that all services had returned to normal, but disruptions continued until 7 p.m.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to New Malden station at around 10.12am on Saturday (June 8) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended and one person was taken to hospital with life-changing but non-life-threatening injuries.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
