A woman in her 40s was punched in the face during the attack in Beaumont Leys

A 40-year-old woman was punched in the face during an alleged assault in Leicester. The incident happened in Torridon Close, Beaumont Leys, between 12.20pm and 1am on Saturday, June 1, police said today.

The woman’s medication and keys were also taken during the incident. Later, the police arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of assault. He has since been released on bail.



Investigations into the assault are ongoing, police said. Police are appealing for “youths” who were believed to be in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact them.

Investigating officer PC Thorne Rowan said: “From inquiries so far, I believe there were a number of young people in the area who saw what happened. I am particularly keen to speak to them and encourage them, or anyone else who witnessed this incident, to contact the police. Anything you can tell us could help our investigation.”
