Bradford district village named among the best in Britain

A village in the BRADFORD district has been named among the best in Britain.

Saltaire features in The Telegraph’s Britain’s 30 Greatest Villages.

The list was compiled by UK experts revealing their favorite ‘unspoiled village’.

Saltaire, which became a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2001, has been called an “outstanding example of a model village”.

Also of note is Salts Mill, home to a huge collection of works by Bradford artist David Hockney.

Experts recommend a two-night stay in a “comfortable Saltaire terrace” which has two double rooms, sleeping six, available from around £300.

Salts Diner is recommended for a bite to eat with “excellent salads, burgers and hand-tossed pizza”.

They also suggest combining a visit to Saltaire with a walk in Bradford through Lister Park.

Earlier this year, the village was one of 72 locations featured in the annual Sunday Times Best Places to Live 2024 guide.
