Drivers in Wiltshire have been warned to watch their speed this summer

More than a thousand people were caught speeding in Wiltshire in May

There’s a warning from Wiltshire Police to think before we get behind the wheel this summer.

With the weather improving and the European Championships just around the corner, officers are urging us to be safe on Wiltshire’s roads.

It comes as 1,202 drivers were caught speeding in the county in May.

This is less than in April, when 1,367 people were caught speeding, but still for 2024, almost 5,000 people are needed for speeding.

Of those fined in May, 1,016 received a speed awareness course, while 164 received a fine and points on their licence.

22 drivers are set to appear in court.
